Job description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our team as an integral part of our service team. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for managing our wine cellar, curating wine lists, and providing wine recommendations to enhance our guests' dining experience. This remote role requires a deep understanding of wines, including their history, varietals, regions, and pairings, as well as a dedication to sharing this knowledge with others.

Responsibilities:

• Fully responsible for the wine program

• Collaborate closely with the culinary team to create harmonious wine pairings

• Provide wine education and recommendations to guests, aiming to enhance their dining experience

• Lead consumer-facing marketing events such as "wine of the month" campaigns

• Host and speak during wine appreciation events

• Conduct staff training sessions on wine knowledge, service techniques, and proper glassware handling

• Manage inventory, including upkeeping proper storage conditions, inventory reporting, and handling supplier relations, including purchasing and negotiating prices

• Recognized certification will be a plus

Qualifications:

• At least 2 to 3 years of working experience as a Sommelier

• Strong knowledge of wines, wine regions, grape varietals, and wine service techniques

• Well-informed of the latest industry trends and ever-changing wine consumer demands

• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences

• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

• Remote resort experience is a must
