We’re looking for a Software Development Manager who is passionate about technology and leading high-performing engineering teams. This is a unique opportunity to drive the development of multiple security products as part of the BMC AMI Security portfolio.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and leading a global team of ~13 Software Developers & QA Engineers who are architecting, designing, and building complex hybrid security solutions, utilizing advanced methodologies for high-scale systems.

You will play a key role in shaping the product’s strategy, making critical technical decisions, and ensuring seamless execution in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Beyond technology, you will focus on mentoring, developing engineers, fostering a strong engineering culture, and guiding your team toward success.

  • Lead and manage a team of ~13 skilled engineers, driving innovation and excellence.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop talent, fostering a culture of growth and high performance.
  • Own the end-to-end development of cutting-edge products – from architecture and design to full-scale deployment.
  • Shape the strategy of a mission-critical mainframe security product used by enterprise customers, while making crucial technical decisions
  • Collaborate across teams - work closely with DevOps, IT, Support, and Product Management to ensure seamless execution.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in directly managing Agile software development teams, including hiring, mentoring, and task management
  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise software development (preferably C / Assembler).
  • Experience with Mainframe Security subsystems administration such as RACF
  • Experience with X.509 Certificates and SSH keys/certs
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps technologies, with ability to manage and optimize complex CI/CD processes
  • Deep understanding of the importance of highly automated QA environments.
  • Hands‑on project management skills and experience.
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for adopting modern technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills:

  • Experience with MF Security subsystems such as ACF2 and Top-Secret
  • Strong skills in DevOps, and automation
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field
  • CISSP certification
