Overview
About the role: We are currently looking to hire an Associate Social Media Lead with 3-4 years of experience to manage social networks for a top FMCG client. The successful candidate will have a strong background of working with digital and social agencies, and must excel in producing engaging and creative social media and digital work across planning, strategy and media. An editorial background and creative skills such as video editing would be an advantage.
These brands are at the forefront of contemporary thinking, utilising in-depth insight for digital strategy and content advertising. They are also dedicated to sustainability and foregrounding a brand purpose, which means the work we do with them requires creative thinking in every brief, regardless of scale.
What you will be doing
- Your key role will be to manage all content for the brand and build an engaging community on social media.
- Manage content for the brand across social channels especially Instagram and TikTok.
- Grow the brand’s follower base aggressively by creating content, mapping performance, researching competitors, engaging with the influencer community and managing the online reputation.
- Create regular social media reports: monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Repurpose existing content for different uses.
- Master a variety of brand voices.
- Work closely with clients to create strong concepts from initial briefing through to execution.
- Set tone and drive creativity, working closely with the Creative Director-Copy/Account Director to ensure creative excellence.
- Maintain a high awareness of relevant trending topics and news to identify content opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather input and validate the content.
- Ensure consistency and quality across all written content.
- Present and articulate concepts to clients.
- Help plan content calendars.
- Participate in creative brainstorms alongside the Creative Director.
- Create social orchestration/campaign journeys.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of social channels and trends and stay up to date with platform updates.
- Lead a team consisting of Social Media Managers and Social Media Executives.
What you need to be great in this role
- 4+ years of strong experience writing for digital, with ability to create content that connects with audiences.
- Ability to strategy from a long-term perspective.
- Strong analytics skills.
- Up-to-date with trends and platform knowledge.
- Proven track record of executing campaigns.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Understanding of how the digital landscape works and ability to think on a 360/cohesive level.
- Proactive follow-ups and strong organizational skills.
- Experience in beauty/personal care space is preferred.
- Act as a single-point contact for the creative and brand teams.
- Lead the creative vision for the brand across strategy, copy, content, and social with knowledge and expertise.
- Execute Brand content across consumer touchpoints – social media, influencer activity, paid media including performance, PR, e-commerce, and DTC.
- Lead the team to qualitative and quantitative success and set both short-term and long-term goals.
- Hold accountability and ensure quality work scales.
- Organize content schedules to create a seamless workflow.
- Flawless written English including punctuation and spelling.
- Enjoy the pace of digital change and innovation.
- Stay informed about pop culture, memes, and internet trends.
- Understand which content formats and platforms drive which outcomes and how people behave on social media across platforms.
- Strong understanding of writing for beauty brands and how content plays out across multiple mediums.
- Use data and insight to inform creative decisions.
- Strong writing ability and ability to perform under pressure.
- Experience working as part of a traditional creative team (designer and copywriter) is helpful.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex material into engaging stories and content for target audiences.
- Confident presenting and communicating clearly to team members and clients.
- Preferably from a digital-first/digital-only brand/editorial/agency background.
- Passion for and curiosity about AI and new technologies; knowledge of AI tools is beneficial, but the ability to learn and digest benefits of AI tools is critical.
