A leading consumer goods company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead design and innovation projects. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing engineering designs for personal hygiene product manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience, a relevant degree, and strong communication skills. A positive attitude and ability to travel are essential.
The Mechanical Engineer role works with the electrical engineer to provide engineering solutions for KC product innovation projects across Baby Care, Adult Care, and Feminine Care machines. The Mechanical Engineer for this role will provide leadership and support to layout, engineering design, installation, and start-up for product innovation projects in KC IPC countries.
Lead the mechanical engineering design per innovation project requirement, provide the engineering feasibility analysis concept/report, scope confirmation, and cost estimation per machine capacity and process knowledge.
Independently perform mechanical/module detail design with material/mechanical design/manufacturing and assembly knowledge.
Effectively collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes Supply Chain, mill operations, procurement, equipment suppliers, and external service providers to implement innovation projects successfully.
Adapt OEM equipment function and capability to manufacturing processes. Examples: Function rolls (Ear Applicators, OSCAR, SPA…), Cutting (Die, Water Cutter & Cutoffs), Mechanical bonding (Pressure & Ultrasonic), Adhesives, Web Handling, unwinds (Festoon & Dancers), Material Splicing, FIFE set-ups/options, Draw Control, Grade Mix Matrix, Manufacturing Considerations (Grade Change, PM, RFS).
Drive a culture of protected and documented innovation to protect and defend proprietary technology, products, and business processes through the appropriate use of patents and trade secrets. This includes completing required project documentation through EFS, EDR.
