Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title:

Mechanical Engineer - Static

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Mechanical Engineer - Static to support the Abadi LNG project, one of the largest projects in Asia. This project will provide front-end design (FEED) for onshore liquefied natural gas facilities & will have a peak production capacity targets of 9.5 million tons per annum of LNG and 150 million standard cubic feet per day of pipeline gas. The Abadi LNG project has been designated a project of strategic importance by the Indonesian government.

The Mechanical Engineer - Static will provide technical support in the static equipment design of the facility by working to develop static equipment design concepts, design criteria & specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical analysis, calculation, & review
  • Implement government regulations & industrial codes/practices in order to satisfy the statement of work and BoD requirements
  • Review technical documents & drawings
  • Support the purchase and installation of static equipment
  • Perform static equipment analysis and calculations
  • Identify and share areas of concern & recommend corrective actions
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience, with average experience of 10 + years in the Oil & Gas industry
  • 3 + years of LNG plant or on/offshore project experience in the static equipment discipline
  • Proven ability in FEED & EPC static equipment design activities related to LNG Plants
  • Proficient knowledge & hands-on experience of static equipment design including all phases of projects from FEED to detail engineering through construction & pre-commissioning
  • Well rounded in the procedures for static equipment engineering
  • Familiar with static equipment designs of LNG production facilities including cryogenic H/E
  • Demonstrated capacity to review technical documents & drawings of APCI’s Cryogenic Wound Heat Exchange (CWHE), LNG Tank, Cryogenic vessels
  • Experience providing assistance in purchasing & installing above equipment
  • Ability to perform static equipment analysis & calculations, review & implantation of local government regulations, industry codes, & standards
  • Adept in high-pressure fluids, operation & design of CO2 & H2S content facilities as well as with projects that have stringent HSE requirements
  • Working knowledge of design software related to static equipment design preferably PV-Elite
