Chandra Asri Group, through its subsidiary PT Chandra Asri Konsultansi (CAK), has established a Shared Service Center (SSC) to enhance operational efficiency and support the business growth of its subsidiaries. From finance and HR to procurement, customer operations, and IT, our SSC is the backbone that keeps businesses running smoothly. One of our key areas of support is for Aster Chemicals & Energy (ACE), a leading chemical and energy solutions provider in Singapore and the Asia Pacific. ACE combines the legacy of Singapore’s first oil refinery with cutting-edge petrochemical operations, jointly owned by Chandra Asri Group and Glencore, one of the world’s largest natural resource companies.

PURPOSE:

The Energy and Risk Accounting (ERA) Manager position is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end (E2E) ERA operations in delivery of business objectives while driving continuous improvement. This involves maintaining close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure business priorities and changes are effectively managed.

The ERA Manager will also manage a variety of financial/business activities related to Month-end Close and reporting.

The position is expected to review existing guidelines to ensure adequate accounting and reporting; identify and assess areas of risk and initiate action to minimize exposure to such risk (reporting errors); and review processes to maintain integrity of accounts.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead ERA operations - stock recording and reconciliation, purchase invoicing, mass balancing and stock valuation across businesses.
  • Drive E2E operational excellence and establish fit-for-purpose monitoring mechanism, enabling timely intervention.
  • Lead and support the implementation of change program towards end state S4 HANA roadmap relevant to ERA processes.
  • Manage and coach BPO ERA team. Collaborate closely with different teams (i.e., Site PHEA team, Refinery Ops, Supply team) to develop efficient ways of working leading to shared initiatives.
  • Lead the development of solutions for structural issues identified in the ERA processes. Provide rapid response to significant HM issues engaging with business partners to resolve issues promptly.
  • Understand and implement corresponding financial controls to mitigate financial reporting risks. Ensure controls are operated effectively based on design.
  • Oversee ERA month-end closing process.
  • Foster a strong learner mindset and develop team to be digitally literate to drive value creation to streamline/improve E2E process on a continuous basis. Participate in project and process improvement activity to develop consistent HM accounting.
  • Fulfils job duties and responsibilities in conformance with sound safety practices. Performs other related duties including projects as assigned.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with at least 10+ years’ work experience in relevant areas.
  • Manufacturing experience, with good understanding of costing.
  • Knowledge of Refinery and/or Chemicals business and financial processes is desirable, preferably with exposure to stock recording, reconciliation, settlements, mass balancing and valuation.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to apply them in a practical manner.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to determine the underlying issues, and to relate them to the relevant financial and business principles.
  • Leadership skills to function as a change agent and influence others to make process improvements.
  • Resilient in change management and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of interpersonal, specifically communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exhibits strong integrity, teamwork, and trust attributes.
  • Strong IT skills- manage substantial amounts of data in various tools and spreadsheets.
