Overview

The Desktop Services Administrator will ensure the proper operation of computer systems and software while providing technical support to end users globally. This role is responsible for configuring, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting mobile devices, PCs, laptops, and related peripherals quickly and effectively.

What you will do
  • Manage the software and hardware inventory, ensuring all equipment is correctly maintained and tracked.
  • Provide training to end users on the use of all desktop-related hardware and software.
  • Ensure all desktop systems comply with the company's security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with Infrastructure and Applications teams to maintain healthy systems.
  • Administer, maintain, and provide support for all desktop-related hardware and software, including workstations and printers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any hardware or software-related issues reported by end users in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with IT infrastructure server setup and maintenance as requested by infrastructure team members.
  • Support and troubleshoot end users remotely and in person.
  • Manage and maintain desktop security, including virus protection and software patching.
  • Manage user accounts and access rights, including file server access and onboarding/offboarding, with knowledge of Exchange and Azure AD.
  • Oversee Thycotic Secret Server, including granting and revoking access through the admin console.
  • Monitor the ticket queue to ensure service tickets are resolved and closed in a timely manner, following up with end users to confirm resolution.
  • Support Microsoft Teams phone and the office badge system.
What we need from you
  • 3+ years of practical experience with managing systems, networks, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Familiarity with network and server configuration, security protocols, and data management.
  • Extensive familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as related technologies (AD, Azure, GPO, Microsoft O365, Teams, Office Suite, Exchange, VMs, RDS, Endpoint Protection, Anywhere365, Proofpoint, Thinfinity, ServiceNow ticketing system, and Global Protect VPN).
  • Expertise in various OSs such as Windows Server, Linux, Unix, and sometimes macOS.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network security.
  • Experience with server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
  • Ability to write scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automating tasks.
  • Understanding of backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple duties and priorities simultaneously.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with team members and end users.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for technical issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
