The award-winning East Riding of Yorkshire Building Design Team is a busy, well-established, multi-disciplinary practice embedded within the Local Authority. We currently have an opportunity for a Clerk of Works, to join the Project Management section on a permanent basis.
This position would ideally suit a candidate who is looking to step up to the next level or an existing clerk of works looking for a new challenge. Due to the seniority of this position, you'll need substantial experience and preferably be working towards a relevant qualification.
The applicant will work within the Project Management team, representing the team on day-to-day construction site matters, attending site meetings, inspecting works, and reporting on progress. Other duties include preparing project defect schedules, witnessing, verifying, and recording the correct construction processes, ensuring the relevant documentation is in place, and overseeing the commissioning and demonstration of the building, in close liaison with the Project Management and Architects teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a construction-based site supervision service for the Council on various projects, ensuring compliance and quality standards in line with the prescribed design information. A strong knowledge of health and safety and good practice is essential for managing a site effectively.
This role may also involve client-facing responsibilities, so good communication skills and experience in presenting are required. The candidate should also demonstrate problem-solving abilities and experience in co-operative working within a multi-disciplinary team.
An understanding of BIM is required, with Revit and AutoCAD being the primary software used. There is flexibility in working patterns, including the possibility to work from home and time spent in the office.
