Area Sales Executive – UK, Midlands
Based in Derbyshire, South Yorkshire or Nottingham to cover surrounding counties

Responsibilities
- Grow the business by signing, training and activating new Western Union agents and managing business development activities with existing agents in your territory spanning extensive travel.
- Execute plans, policies, and procedures as defined by leadership to achieve the company strategic objectives in a consumer focussed manner.
- Develop prospective agent opportunities, manage existing agent relationships and service delivery, control agent attrition, sign new agent locations and complete all change of ownership to completion and go live.
- Provide local market competitive intelligence and build relationships with relevant grassroots and community organisations to better understand the needs and objectives of consumers in the local market.
- Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with existing agent partners, supporting them to optimize performance and grow their business.
- Collect daily pricing information on Western Union and all IMT competitors to ensure all pricing offered is of fair value where possible and aligned to market considerations.
- Act as a trusted advisor by understanding agents’ needs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and providing proactive, tailored support.
- Onboard new agents and work with existing agents to guide them through activation, recertification, training, and integration into the Western Union network.
- Daily visits to agent locations, especially high‑performing or strategic sites, to support and strengthen partnerships across Independent, Key Account and Post Offices within your defined geographical territory.
- Monitor performance data and business trends, using insights to drive results and address any operational or service challenges. Use reports provided to analyse performance – Comfort with Excel essential and other reporting tools such as Salesforce and Power BI.
- Identify and sign new business opportunities, helping to expand the agent network in high‑potential areas to improve accessibility for customers to the money transfer service.
- Own revenue growth and productivity metrics within your assigned geographical territory.
- Serve as the first point of contact for Western Union agents, providing day‑to‑day support and ensuring a smooth experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in outside sales or servicing customer products or financial services is a plus.
- Money Transfer experience is a nice to have.
- Strong negotiation and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to present and listen to your agents and build trust and confidence with them.
- Able to gain the trust and confidence of clients.
- University degree, a higher‑level qualification or equivalent experience.
- This is a field sales role with approx 80% travel.
- Full valid driving licence is essential – company car is provided.
