As Team Leader you will manage and supervise the team of technical assistants covering a variety of technical and administrative functions which support the Planning Service. You will oversee performance and service delivery to ensure we deliver efficient and quality services. Working closely with Planning Service Managers you will deploy resources to best effect, responding to priority work needs, review processes and contribute to ongoing service improvements including IT systems. This role involves working with a range of customers both internal and external to the Council. This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
- Lead and supervise the team of technical assistants covering technical and administrative functions that support the Planning Service.
- Oversee performance and service delivery to ensure efficient and high-quality services.
- Deploy resources in collaboration with Planning Service Managers to respond to priority work needs and optimise workload.
- Review processes and contribute to ongoing service improvements, including IT systems.
- Work with internal and external customers of the Council.
- Experienced manager with a positive can-do approach.
- Knowledge of planning processes and IT systems (e.g., IDOX Uniform) to be effective in a technical environment.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills, able to work with multi-disciplinary teams and meet multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop others and ensure appropriate standards are achieved and legislative requirements are met.
- This role is designated customer facing with a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
