A technology consulting firm in Manchester is seeking a skilled Electronics Design Engineer for a contract role focusing on embedded and power electronics. The successful candidate will engage in designing and testing FPGA and microcontroller systems while ensuring compliance with EMC standards. This opportunity includes collaboration across various disciplines and requires immediate start for 6-12 months.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electronics design engineering with a focus on embedded systems.
- Ability to design and test FPGA and microcontroller-based systems.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
Responsibilities
- Design and test complex electronic systems including FPGA, microcontrollers, and power electronics.
- Ensure compliance with EMC standards and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects.
Tools
An opportunity for a proven Electronics Design Engineer to contribute to advanced product development within embedded and power electronics.
- Design and test FPGA (VHDL), microcontrollers, SMPS, and BLDC motor drive systems.
- Schematic capture, PCB layout, and verification using Altium.
- Development of mixed‑signal and RF interfaces up to GHz frequencies.
- Debugging and resolving EMC issues, ensuring compliance and manufacturability.
- Collaboration across hardware, software, and mechanical disciplines to deliver robust solutions.
- Support DfM and DfT initiatives to improve designs for volume production.
