Cleaning Supervisor
Job summary
A regional educational body in Cookstown is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations and staff. Responsibilities include planning workloads, conducting staff training, and maintaining cleaning standards. Candidates should have two years of cleaning experience and experience supervising teams. The position is based at Holy Trinity College and is open to applicants across Northern Ireland.
Qualifications
- Two years' experience of cleaning outside the home environment.
- Experience in supervising staff.
Responsibilities
- Plan and control cleaning staff work.
- Conduct induction and refresher training.
- Liaise with building manager on cleaning issues.
- Handle complaints regarding cleaning service.
- Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
Skills
To provide a cleaning service within a building or building complex to agreed standards. A full list of responsibilities, essential and desirable skills can be found on the Education Authority website.
- Plan, organise and control the work of cleaning staff to ensure that EA standards are met, it being understood that the cleaning supervisor personally undertake cleaning duties.
- Carry out induction and skills training including refresher training in line with EA practice.
- Liaise with the building manager or other authorised person on day today issues related to cleaning.
- Investigate complaints in respect of the cleaning provision, take corrective action and where appropriate advise the designated line manager.
- Ensure that adequate supplies of materials and light equipment are requisitioned and maintained at appropriate levels within the budget allocated and that equipment is kept in good condition, used and stored correctly.
- Demonstrate two years’ experience of cleaning outside the home environment.
- Demonstrable experience of supervision of staff.
