We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly skilled Teacher of French to join our thriving Modern Foreign Languages department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate linguist with the ability to teach French from KS3 through to A‑Level (KS5), and a commitment to inspiring young people to develop a lifelong love of languages. The ideal candidate will bring strong subject expertise, creativity in the classroom, and a genuine desire to contribute to the wider life of a vibrant school community. The ability to teach Spanish at KS3/KS4 is desirable.

The successful candidate will:

• Teach French across KS3–KS5, including A-Level.
• Contribute to the planning and development of engaging schemes of work and high‑quality MFL resources.
• Support effective collaborative practice within departmental meetings.
• Maintain excellent standards of classroom management and the care of teaching spaces.
• Ensure the effective use and maintenance of teaching materials, technology and language learning software.
• Participate actively in ongoing professional development, including language‑specific training.
• Serve as a Form Tutor, contributing to the pastoral wellbeing of students.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils in line with statutory and school policies.
• Play a full role in the co‑curricular life of the school, including: Language clubs, Cultural events, Trips abroad and enrichment opportunities.

• Degree in Modern Foreign Languages (or equivalent).
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience teaching French across KS3–KS5, including A‑Level.
• Demonstrable track record of inspiring pupils to excel in MFL.
• Strong subject knowledge of French language, culture and pedagogy.
• Desirable: Ability to teach Spanish at KS3/KS4.

• Excellent lesson planning and classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of learners of differing abilities.
• Confident use of technology, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; Interactive whiteboards; Language learning platforms and software.
• Clear, confident and professional communication (spoken and written).
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
