Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured and differentiated Art lessons
• Support pupils to achieve ability‑appropriate qualifications and outcomes
• Inspire confidence, curiosity and creativity across year groups
• Take responsibility for pupil progress, achievement and artistic development
• Monitor, assess and track progress, using data to inform planning and targets
• Plan lessons thoroughly and reflect on outcomes, sharing best practice with colleagues
• Differentiate teaching approaches, resources and materials to meet diverse needs
• Use assessment for learning to help pupils understand their progress and next steps
• Mark, assess and record work in line with school expectations
• Use ICT and digital tools to enhance learning where appropriate
• Create a positive, well‑managed classroom that supports behaviour for learning
• Contribute to pupils’ pastoral, social, moral and cultural development
• Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers
• Effectively direct and support Teaching Assistants to maximise engagement
• Apply behaviour, rewards and “Ready to Learn” approaches consistently
• Produce accurate, timely reports that support pupil progress
• Follow school policies on teaching, learning, data, safeguarding and wellbeing
• Contribute to whole‑school development and a positive school culture

Experience and Qualifications Required

• UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching Art within a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of effective and high‑quality classroom practice.
