Job summary

A local educational institution in Walsall is looking for a Casual Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe learning environment. The ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and physically fit, ready to handle various cleaning needs and ensure security within the school. Training will be provided, and while experience is desirable, it is not essential. Applications must be submitted using the CES application form by the closing date on 13th February 2026.

Casual Cleaner

Hourly Rate £12.65

The Governors of St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School are looking to appoint a Casual Cleaner to work in the school as and when required.

We are looking to appoint, a reliable, flexible and practical individual. The successful candidate will support our school in providing a clean, tidy, hygienic, safe and well maintained, learning environment.

General duties will include ensuring a high standard of cleanliness throughout the school and that security is always maintained to support and safeguard the welfare of all persons using the school premises.

The successful candidate will need to be fit and able to cope with the physical demands of the job, possess good individual and team skills and be ready to deal with a variety of situations and challenges.

There might also be occasional chances to work during school holidays, depending on the school's need for more thorough cleaning.

There will also be a requirement to undertake training appropriate to the post.

Previous experience of cleaning, safe use of chemicals and using cleaning machinery would be desirable but isn’t essential as full training will be given.
