Are you a confident, calm leader who thrives on responsibility and purpose?

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Security and Amenities Manager to lead and deliver a comprehensive security strategy across our beautiful 130-acre school estate.

This is a senior operational role with real impact, ensuring the safety and security of pupils, colleagues, visitors and external users, while fostering a culture of vigilance, professionalism and care across our school community. You’ll bring strong leadership, sound judgement and a steady presence, particularly in high-pressure situations.

The role would suit someone with a background in the military, police or wider uniformed services, or an experienced security professional who enjoys combining strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership.

This is a newly created role within our evolving Estates and Security structure, designed to strengthen on‑site supervision and support as our school continues to grow and develop. Alongside this post, we are also recruiting a Security & Amenities Supervisor and a Security & Amenities Operative, creating a small, dedicated team focused on maintaining a safe, welcoming and well‑managed site for our school community and external users.

  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + additional Christmas closure days (usually an extra 3 days)

  • Option to buy up to 10 additional annual leave days

  • Aviva pension with up to 10% employer contribution

  • Generous leave of absence and family‑friendly policies

  • Opportunities to contribute to wider school life, events and colleague initiatives

As Security and Amenities Manager, you’ll provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of security across the school, working closely with the Director of Estates and senior leaders.

Your role will include
  • Developing and delivering the school’s Security Strategy, policies and procedures

  • Leading compliance with Martyn’s Law (Protect Duty) and wider statutory requirements

  • Conducting regular security risk and threat assessments across the campus

  • Coordinating responses to critical incidents, working closely with emergency services

  • Overseeing lockdown procedures, training and scenario‑based exercises

  • Managing and developing the Security and Amenities Team, including rotas, performance and wellbeing

  • Ensuring effective operation of access control, CCTV, visitor management and perimeter security

  • Providing security advice and risk assessments for events and external lettings

This role requires flexibility, including evening and weekend working, to ensure appropriate security coverage across the school year.

We are looking for an experienced, confident security leader with a calm, professional approach, strong people‑management skills and the ability to manage risk, incidents and safety in a complex environment, always with integrity and sound judgement.
