A leading transportation company in Greater London is seeking a skilled individual to direct and motivate a high-performing team in delivering effective maintenance and inspection work. The role entails ensuring adherence to safety standards and compiling essential reports to guarantee efficiency. From establishing safety arrangements to checking the quality of work, you'll direct and inspire the success of a team involved in everything from inspection and faulting, through to maintenance and renewal. You will play a hands‑on role ensuring everything is done efficiently and to the highest standards. Safety will be a priority: you’ll establish appropriate safety arrangements and make sure Network Rail staff and contractors alike follow safe systems of work.
You will also be responsible for proactively controlling and checking the quality of work and the competence of your people, ensuring assets are fully compliant and that all vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials are fit for purpose. Along the way you’ll compile a range of vital reports.
This role involves days, nights and weekend working. It is a safety‑critical role, so you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing and required to pass a relevant medical assessment.
Salary: £53,195 per annum, plus night shift allowance (22.5 days annual).
