A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Band 7 Diabetes Clinical Specialist Nurse to join their Sefton Place Community Diabetes Team. The role requires a comprehensive knowledge of diabetes, strong leadership abilities, and the capability to provide specialist nursing care. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, patient education, and case management. Candidates with experience in diabetes management are encouraged to apply, and there is room for progression if the V300 qualification is not held.

We are recruiting a Band 7 Diabetes Clinical Specialist Nurse to work within the Sefton Place Community Diabetes Team. The post holder will need to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge base in relation to diabetes and promote excellence in nursing practice in a dynamic healthcare environment. The post holder is expected to demonstrate leadership values within the team and contribute to the delivery of specialist nursing care, case management, and provide direct patient care, acting as an expert practitioner to optimise patient health, provide education for self‑care, and support the complex management of patient pathways.
We welcome applications from candidates who have the required experience in diabetes management but do not currently hold the appropriate prescriber (V300) qualification. In such cases, applicants would need to be willing to commence the course within 6 months of starting in the post which would be supported by the Trust. These applicants would commence on Band 6 with a clear progression plan to Band 7 upon achievement of the required qualification, competencies and experience, in line with Mersey Care’s commitment to supporting staff development.
