A south London local authority is seeking an experienced Interim Electrical Project Engineer to join their Design Service Team. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Principal Engineer, contributing to projects that enhance the borough's infrastructure. The team specialises in designing and implementing projects to improve public spaces, buildings, and facilities, focusing on sustainable and innovative practices.

Your new role

• Assist the Principal Engineer in designing, developing, and managing electrical projects.
• Conduct calculations and analyses to establish standards and specifications.
• Develop designs and oversee project activities to ensure timely completion and compliance.
• Inspect sites to monitor progress and safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members, contractors, and clients.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Project management experience is preferred.
• Relevant licenses/certifications (e.g., CIBSE, IMET) may be required.
• Several years of engineering experience.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and electrical principles.

What you'll get in return

Daily rate of up to £250 on a rolling contract, working Monday to Friday, with one day in the office and site visits as needed.
