Job summary
A leading fire protection company is seeking a Project Engineer to manage Fire Detection and Mechanical Fire Protection projects in data centres. The role requires strong project management skills and the ability to oversee installations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in the industry and be adept at liaising with subcontractors and clients. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to challenging projects in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Must have a sound knowledge of project management in data centre environments.
- Previous experience in fire detection and mechanical fire protection projects is essential.
- Ability to effectively communicate and manage relationships with subcontractors and clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from enquiry to completion within a data centre environment.
- Oversee installation works and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Prepare Quality Assurance documentation and report any issues.

Protec Fire and Security Group, a Bosch Company, have an opportunity for a Project Engineer (Data Centres).
The position of Project Engineer is to work on and assist with the day to day project management of a new Fire Detection and Mechanical Fire Protection Project within a Data Centre environment. With a sound knowledge and previous experience in the industry, you will ensure efficient delivery and installation of challenging, fast paced data centre projects.
- Ability to handle projects from enquiry to completion.
- Ability to manage a construction programme and report accordingly.
- To effectively manage the installation works on site whilst liaising with both sub-contractors and clients.
- Undertaking of relevant H & S duties ie safe starts, tool box talks etc.
- Liaise with manufacturing, design and other relevant departments to ensure timely delivery.
- Ability to highlight any problem areas ensuring they are effectively communicated to the relevant parties.
- Ensuring compliance with codes, practices, and specifications.
- To complete Quality Assurance documentation ensuring works are of the appropriate standard and report snags to sub-contractors.
- Ability to delegate tasks to team members.
- Willingness to learn and undertake commercial responsibilities on projects.
- Any other duties commensurate with your position.
