Responsibilities

• Leading and owning a complex development programme involving a cross‑functional engineering team
• Resolving technical issues and leading key design reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR etc)
• Estimating, scheduling and tracking progress amongst the team and reporting earned‑value metrics including CPI, SPI, ETC, BCWS, BCWP and ACWP
• Interfacing with and presenting to key stakeholders including customers, regulatory authorities and, internally, with senior managers
• Leading and influencing the architectural design of complex engineering solutions drawing from a range of engineering disciplines including analogue and digital electronics, RF, FPGA, embedded software, application software, user‑interface, and mechanical solutions
• Guiding a development through the systems engineering lifecycle ensuring compliance against internal processes and legal and safety standards
• Contributing to the generation of technical proposals, bids and supporting internal review, governance and sign‑off
• Guiding and mentoring engineers to support skills development within the wider team

Qualifications

• Experience of taking a leading role in engineering development projects through most parts of the systems engineering lifecycle from concept definition through to handover to the customer
• Experience of working under tight time pressures and interfacing with key stakeholders including customers
• Experience in leading a team of engineers of multiple disciplines and levels
• Relevant industry experience in either the Defence, Aerospace or other complex embedded environments
