Voice and Unified Communications Projects Engineer (MS Teams Administrator)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of legacy telephony services to Microsoft Teams Voice.
- Configure, deploy and support Teams endpoints (handsets, headsets, common‑area devices).
- Conduct site‑based readiness assessments for network, Wi‑Fi, switching, cabling and device checks in collaboration with Operations teams.
- Plan, prepare and execute cutovers with the Voice & UC Programme team, including auto attendants, call queues, resource accounts, dial plans, call routing and endpoint profiles.
- Coordinate number ports and support third‑party telcos.
- Provide on‑site troubleshooting, user training and go‑live support.
- Maintain accurate documentation (workbooks, site inventories, cut‑over plans, RAID logs).
- Ensure all deployments comply with Trust governance, downtime authority and change‑freeze processes.
- Represent Digital Voice & UC as a subject‑matter expert on‑site.
- Assist Business Analysts in conducting detailed site surveys for hardware, VLANs and infrastructure readiness.
- Perform physical deployment of handsets and UC equipment, ensuring smooth migration for clinical and operational services.
Key Activities (Telephony migration & support)
- Migrate services from legacy systems such as Avaya, BT, MSD, PSTN.
- Coordinate number ports with telco suppliers and ensure smooth cutovers.
- Test inbound/outbound routing, call flows and contingency arrangements.
- Provide second and third line UC engineering support during go‑live.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with site managers, Estates, Digital Networks, SD‑WAN team and other partners to ensure readiness.
- Communicate clearly about go‑lives, outages and timelines.
- Provide training and on‑site guidance to staff.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Microsoft Teams Voice administration.
- End‑to‑end UC migration experience, particularly from legacy voice platforms (PSTN, Avaya, etc.) to MS Teams.
- On‑site role across East London, Luton and Bedfordshire with frequent travel; own transport required.
- London‑based or within short commutable distance.
- Excellent organisational, proactive and technical skills.
- Effective communication skills with clinical and operational leaders.
