Job description

At Wayve we're committed to creating a diverse, fair and respectful culture that is inclusive of everyone based on their unique skills and perspectives, and regardless of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding) or any other basis as protected by applicable law.

About us

Founded in 2017, Wayve is the leading developer of Embodied AI technology. Our advanced AI software and foundation models enable vehicles to perceive, understand, and navigate any complex environment, enhancing the usability and safety of automated driving systems.

Our vision is to create autonomy that propels the world forward. Our intelligent, mapless, and hardware-agnostic AI products are designed for automakers, accelerating the transition from assisted to automated driving.

In our fast-paced environment big problems ignite us—we embrace uncertainty, leaning into complex challenges to unlock groundbreaking solutions. We aim high and stay humble in our pursuit of excellence, constantly learning and evolving as we pave the way for a smarter, safer future.

At Wayve, your contributions matter. We value diversity, embrace new perspectives, and foster an inclusive work environment; we back each other to deliver impact.

Make Wayve the experience that defines your career!

The role

We’re hiring a Fleet Operations Tooling Manager to own the product vision, roadmap, and delivery of the tools that power our global test operations. This is a critical role at the intersection of product, engineering, and operations — responsible for building intuitive, scalable systems that enable our frontline teams to execute safely, efficiently, and at scale.

You’ll act as the voice of the internal Ops user, consolidating feedback from Vehicle Safety Operators, Shift Leads, and Ops leaders, and translating it into a cohesive, prioritised roadmap. You’ll also lead buy-vs-build assessments, define product success metrics, and ensure smooth release of tooling updates in partnership with QA, L&D, and engineering.

This role is ideal for a hands-on product leader with experience supporting Ops-first organisations — someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and knows how to deliver simple tools to complex problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and define the internal ops tooling roadmap across routing, shift planning, dashboarding, and workflow systems.
  • Consolidate and prioritise a unified feedback backlog sourced from VSOs, Shift Leads, and Ops leaders.
  • Own and lead the buy vs build assessment for operational tooling needs and cascade the requirements to appropriate engineering teams.
  • Formalise and manage operator tooling releases in partnership with L&D and QA.
  • Work with internal and potentially external development teams on actioning the user feedback into product solutions.
  • Lead buy vs build assessment for identified operations needs as we scale.
  • Define product success metrics and measure impact of releases, ROI.
  • Ensure alignment between data, process, product, and ops functions.
About You

You know how to take complex operational challenges and turn them into clear, user-friendly tools. You’ve built internal products that help frontline teams move faster, make better decisions, and stay focused under pressure.

You’re experienced in juggling competing feature requests, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering with urgency — without losing sight of the bigger picture. You want to stay close to the end user and you're driven by building tools that make a tangible impact in the real world.

You think strategically but move fast, navigating ambiguity and constraints with confidence. You thrive in iterative environments where progress beats perfection. You're experienced in managing the full product launch lifecycle - from planning and rollout to driving adoption. You know how to partner with QA and L&D to ensure smooth releases, clear communication, and tools that land well with internal users.

  • Proven experience in product management within a technical, operations-heavy environment (e.g. logistics, robotics, manufacturing, autonomous systems, or field operations).
  • Strong product ownership skills — demonstrated ability to define and drive a product vision and roadmap from ideation to release.
  • Experience working closely with frontline operations teams to gather user insights and translate feedback into clear, prioritised backlogs.
  • Familiarity with internal tools or platform products, particularly those related to task scheduling, routing, dashboarding, or workflow management.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives, working effectively with engineering, QA, L&D, and operations stakeholders to deliver solutions.
  • Ability to conduct structured buy-vs-build evaluations, balancing user needs, cost, time-to-value, and technical feasibility.
  • Strong analytical mindset — able to define product success metrics, track adoption/usage, and evaluate the impact of tooling releases.
  • Previous experience collaborating with L&D and QA teams on structured product release, training, and change management processes.
  • Experience working with external tooling vendors or managing integrations between in-house and third-party systems.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate tooling requirements, release notes, and implementation plans to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort in ambiguity and fast-paced environments, with a bias toward action, iteration, and simplicity.

  • Familiarity with SQL and the ability to explore data or collaborate effectively with analytics partners to derive insights.
  • Exposure to process design, systems thinking, or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Experience working across distributed or multi-region teams, especially in a scaling phase.

We understand that everyone has a unique set of skills and experiences and that not everyone will meet all of the requirements listed above. If you’re passionate about self-driving cars and think you have what it takes to make a positive impact on the world, we encourage you to apply.

This is a full-time role based in our London office (Hybrid). At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home. We operate core working hours so you can determine the schedule that works best for you and your team.

We understand that everyone has a unique set of skills and experiences and that not everyone will meet all of the requirements listed above. If you’re passionate about self-driving cars and think you have what it takes to make a positive impact on the world, we encourage you to apply.

DISCLAIMER: We will not ask about marriage or pregnancy, care responsibilities or disabilities in any of our job adverts or interviews. However, we do look to capture information about care responsibilities, and disabilities among other diversity information as part of an optional DEI Monitoring form to help us identify areas of improvement in our hiring process and ensure that the process is inclusive and non-discriminatory.
