Atlantis Medical is looking for a skilled and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Acute Medicine and Admissions Unit at University Hospital Sussex. This role focuses on the rapid assessment and treatment of patients with acute medical conditions, including those with complex respiratory needs.
You will be part of a supportive and multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality physiotherapy services to patients admitted with acute medical and respiratory conditions. The post requires a proactive and experienced therapist who can manage complex caseloads in a fast-paced environment.
Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment in acute medicine, including respiratory interventions.
Manage a diverse and fast-paced caseload on the acute admissions unit.
Deliver respiratory care including chest physiotherapy, suctioning, and use of NIV (if competent).
Collaborate with the wider MDT (doctors, nurses, OTs, discharge coordinators) to enable timely and safe discharges.
Participate in referral triage and early mobilisation to support patient recovery.
Support and supervise junior staff, physiotherapy assistants, and students.
HCPC-registered Physiotherapist
Minimum 2 years post-grad experience, with proven skills in acute hospital settings
Strong experience in acute medicine and respiratory physiotherapy
Confident in autonomous decision-making and caseload management
Excellent communication and team-working skills
NHS experience strongly preferred
