As the Head Mechanic, you’ll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the workshop. From diagnostics and complex engine repairs to mentoring junior technicians, your role will be varied and impactful. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, is highly organised, and can manage multiple jobs efficiently without compromising on quality.
Our client is a well-respected, independently owned garage located in Barking. Known for their honest service, high standards, and loyal customer base, they offer a wide range of mechanical services across various makes and models. With a friendly team and a supportive working environment, this garage values professionalism, teamwork, and a genuine passion for automotive repair.
Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: Flexible hours

- Carrying out diagnostics, engine work, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles

- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on mechanical experience, including engine diagnostics and repairs

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A proactive and reliable attitude; formal qualifications or a driving licence are not required
