Job Title: Mechanical Fitter / Machine Builder – Contract
Location: Leicester
Rate: Competitive Hourly Rate (Outside IR35 where applicable)
Job Type: Contract 6 Months
Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter or Machine Builder with a background in automation machinery?
We’re working with an innovative engineering company based in Leicester that specialises in the design and build of automation and special purpose machinery. They are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter / Machine Builder to join them on a contract basis to support ongoing and upcoming machine build projects.
The Role:
You’ll be hands-on assembling and building bespoke automation equipment from detailed mechanical drawings and working closely with the in-house design and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical assembly of custom-built automation machinery
*
Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings and schematics
*
Fitting of mechanical components including pneumatics, bearings, linear rails, motors, etc.
*
Working with precision tools and ensuring high build quality
*
Collaborating with electrical and controls teams during integration
*
Supporting commissioning and testing phases when required
About You:
*
Proven experience as a mechanical fitter, machine builder, or assembly technician
*
Previous experience working on automation or special purpose machinery
*
Able to work from mechanical drawings with minimal supervision
*
Strong mechanical aptitude with good problem-solving skills
*
Available for contract work in the Leicester area
