Job Title: Mechanical Fitter / Machine Builder – ContractLocation: LeicesterRate: Competitive Hourly Rate (Outside IR35 where applicable)Job Type: Contract 6 MonthsAre you an experienced Mechanical Fitter or Machine Builder with a background in automation machinery?We’re working with an innovative engineering company based in Leicester that specialises in the design and build of automation and special purpose machinery. They are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter / Machine Builder to join them on a contract basis to support ongoing and upcoming machine build projects.The Role:You’ll be hands-on assembling and building bespoke automation equipment from detailed mechanical drawings and working closely with the in-house design and engineering teams.Key Responsibilities: * Mechanical assembly of custom-built automation machinery * Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings and schematics * Fitting of mechanical components including pneumatics, bearings, linear rails, motors, etc. * Working with precision tools and ensuring high build quality * Collaborating with electrical and controls teams during integration * Supporting commissioning and testing phases when requiredAbout You: * Proven experience as a mechanical fitter, machine builder, or assembly technician * Previous experience working on automation or special purpose machinery * Able to work from mechanical drawings with minimal supervision * Strong mechanical aptitude with good problem-solving skills * Available for contract work in the Leicester areaWhat’s on Offer: * Immediate start available * Competitive hourly rate * Opportunity to work on innovative automation projects * Supportive and skilled engineering teamIf you're a Mechanical Fitter or Machine Builder looking for your next contract and available to work in Leicester, we’d love to hear from you
