Job summary
A leading legal firm in the UK seeks an In-House Legal Counsel specializing in infrastructure and construction law. The role involves drafting contracts, advising on framework agreements, and supporting large-scale projects. Candidates must possess 6+ years of PQE and a strong background in relevant sectors. This position offers a hybrid working model with significant scope for impact within a global organization.
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor with 6+ years' PQE.
- Strong background in infrastructure and/or construction law.
- Experience in water, transport, or energy sectors.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate construction contracts (NEC, FIDIC, JCT).
- Advise on framework agreements and large-scale projects.
- Support on guarantees, bonds and warranties.
Skills
Education
In-House Legal Counsel - Infrastructure/Construction. Cheshire - 2 days per week office presence, hybrid working.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide pragmatic, solutions-focused legal support across major infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally. You will be involved in a broad variety of work, including:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts (including NEC, FIDIC, JCT).
- Advising on major framework agreements, joint ventures and large-scale project delivery.
- Supporting the business on ancillary documentation such as guarantees, bonds and warranties.
- Acting as a key legal partner to a leading division within the group.
- Qualified solicitor with 6+ years' PQE.
- Solid background in infrastructure and/or construction law (in-house or private practice).
- Experience in the water, transport or energy sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to handle a diverse workload.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
