This role sits specifically in our Payment Performance team. Our focus is making payments have a higher probability of succeeding when they come through us, thus ensuring higher revenues for all of our merchants.

In order to achieve this, we need to maximize conversion rates and minimize fraud rates - by leveraging ML and smart rules as well as an experiment-driven approach to ensure gradual improvements.

You will be working with MLEs, back-end engineers, front-end engineers and data scientists in order to innovate and keep Checkout as a best-in-class provider.

• Software Engineers who bring fresh ideas, have a curious nature and are passionate about working in an Engineering environment.
• Proficient in Go.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience working in agile environments and delivering high-quality code within tight deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• AI proficiency or AI curiosity; hunger to embrace the latest technology to enhance productivity.
• Payments or financial knowledge is a plus.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management and a large engineering community.
• Define and design loosely coupled, scalable microservices using industry best practices.
• Stay up-to-date, use, and spread knowledge of the latest technologies used by Checkout.
• Write clean, maintainable, extendable, and testable code on some of Checkout’s most impactful systems.
• Build, own, and operate your systems to the highest levels of resilience and service.
