We are urgently recruiting freelance interpreters to work within various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation, and other public and private organizations.

Established in 2001, Language Empire provides professional interpreting and translation services across the UK. With over 20 years of experience, we cover hundreds of languages and dialects. We are currently recruiting for:

• Telephone Interpreters
• Translators

Please note this is a self-employed position

Interpreting involves listening to, understanding, and accurately reproducing content in the target language.

You will:

• Interpret for legal, health, and local government services
• Check the understanding of non-English speakers after each sentence
• Perform conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
• Handle highly confidential information
• Liaise between service users and providers

• Fluent in English and another language
• Legal right to work in the UK
• Age 21 or over
• Qualifications such as:
  • Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
  • Community Interpreting
  • NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
  • Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
  • Other interpreting qualifications
