Job Title: Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry

We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry to work full-time hours per week for our NHS client based in Leeds, Yorkshire. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately for a short-term contract.

What will your responsibilities be?

We are seeking an Approved Clinician who is motivated to work assertively and provide strong medical leadership in the risk management of approximately 30–40 service users supported by the Forensic Outreach Team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering routine and urgent outpatient appointments, conducting home visits, and providing clinical supervision to conditionally discharged patients. You will also be required to review and renew Community Treatment Orders (CTOs) in compliance with legal and clinical standards. The role is supported by a dedicated team of Community Psychiatric Nurses within the Forensic Outreach Team and a Forensic Social Work Team. Medical cover for non-working days will be provided by the inpatient consultants, ensuring continuity of care.

Qualifications and Experiences:

• You must have a full GMC license to practice.
• Section 12
• Approved clinician status
• Specialist Register (CCT)
• Relevant qualification
• Relevant previous experience working in this type of position
