About the role
Salary: Up to £65,000 dependent on experience
Hargreaves Lansdown is seeking a talented Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Pensions & Retirement product development team. The role involves building market-leading digital solutions for our clients.

We are looking for someone passionate about delivering exceptional client experiences, with experience in .NET Framework/Core and the MS stack, and an interest in moving into AWS cloud native TypeScript or Java development.
What you'll be doing
- Support, maintain, and migrate our Annuities Quote Service (AQS) from a .NET stack to our target tech stack.
- Be a technical subject matter expert for AQS and influence its migration towards our strategic architecture.
- Build and operate AWS Cloud-native applications using TypeScript and React.
- Establish and maintain automated tests for your work.
- Write high-quality, secure, tested, and performant code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital client journeys.
- Promote continuous improvement in ways of working, quality, security, performance, and CI/CD processes.
- Document all solutions according to team standards.
- Show willingness to learn new technologies and techniques.
- Build strong working relationships within your team and across HL.
- Participate in working groups and communities of practice.
- Develop both technical and interpersonal skills.
- Provide engineering support for existing applications when needed.
- Mentor and coach peers.
About you
- Professional experience with .NET Framework/Core and the MS stack.
- Interest in transitioning to AWS cloud native TypeScript and/or Java development.
- Experience with testing tools like Jest, Cypress, Backstop.
- Experience integrating with third-party vendors and defining integration patterns.
- Understanding of Microservices and RESTful API principles.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture.
- Experience conducting code reviews.
- Experience working within Agile frameworks.
Knowledge
- Full stack knowledge of .NET Framework/Core.
- Proficiency with Git (GitLab).
- Understanding of CI/CD and trunk-based development.
- Awareness of website performance and non-functional requirements.
- Ability to produce or review technical documentation.
- Advocate for best development practices for rapid, continuous delivery.
Desirable
- Experience with AWS cloud native TypeScript and/or Java.
- Experience migrating or modernizing legacy systems.
- Experience in financial services.
