An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Senior Software Engineer to join our development team to deliver industry‑leading functionality. This role will suit an enthusiastic and skilled individual with excellent communication skills, who loves to make a difference. The successful candidate would be working on real‑world systems with significant impact.
Main Responsibilities of the role:
- Back‑end: Engineer scalable back‑end architectures and communications protocols to support our mobile device systems. This includes message processing, HTTP data interfaces, APIs, e‑commerce, and other services
- Front‑end: design, develop and support feature rich, modern, customer‑facing .NET web applications
- Working with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance and external suppliers, partners and clients to understand and deliver quality features.
We are looking for someone with experience and skills in:
- C# .NET Core
- APIs and backend services
- Unit testing
- Azure experience, e.g. Service Bus, Storage, KeyVault, etc.
- Containers
- SQL Server, Postgres
- Agile Software Development / Scrum
The successful candidate would:
- Have superb verbal and written communication skills
- Be self‑organised, methodical, and promoter of ‘we can do anything’ mind‑set
- Be a logical problem‑solver, pragmatic, ambitious, and team‑player oriented
- Have a minimum of 8 years commercial software development experience
It would also be desirable if you have:
- High volume data processing
- Kubernetes
- Grpc
- Knowledge of architectural and design patterns
- Front‑end web skills including CSS/SCSS, HTML/JavaScript, TypeScript, Blazor
- Security awareness
- Transport industry knowledge
