As a People Administrator / Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our human resources department. You will be responsible for a wide range of HR administrative tasks, ensuring smooth and efficient HR processes, and providing excellent customer service to our employees. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about HR and eager to contribute to the success of a growing organisation.
Shift: 20 hours per week - Flexible shifts to be discussed
Reporting to the People Advisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Being the first point of contact for foundation level site People queries.
- Providing HR expertise to site colleagues and managers as necessary.
- Offering administrative support to the HR team.
- Ensuring payroll administration is accurate and colleagues are paid correctly and on time.
- Maintaining records, files, and spreadsheets in line with data protection legislation.
- Keeping ad-hoc analysis and reporting on HR issues up to date.
- Coordinating weekly HR audit checks.
- Supporting the recruitment process for the site as required.
- Becoming a subject matter expert on company HR policies, ensuring site compliance.
- Supporting, coaching, and challenging line management with absence, disciplinary, and grievance issues.
- Developing engaging, proactive communications across the site.
- Building positive and effective relationships with unions, agency suppliers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Supporting and driving colleague engagement on site.

About You
You don't need to be fully HR qualified to apply (though we encourage those working towards a qualification). We look for:
- The ability to work in a fast-paced People environment (manufacturing experience is a plus but not essential).
- A proactive, positive approach with a customer focus.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Exposure to HR Systems.
- Excellent IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience supporting colleagues and managers with foundation level people queries.
- An understanding of HR policies and practices.
- A proactive approach to personal development.
- Experience implementing processes.
- The ability to act on own initiative.
