Registered Manager – Specialist Therapeutic Children’s Home ( RBD )
Owestery, Shropshire
Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm (with the flexibility required)
£43,537.50 - £61,037.50 including bonuses! (if level 5 qualified)

Our dedication to excellence is reflected in the fact that 50% of our homes are rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. We are now excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Registered Manager for a new specialist therapeutic 3 bed home in Oswestery.

What We're Looking For
We’re seeking a passionate, dedicated and experienced individual ready to lead a new home and make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the residential home
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for young people
  • Develop and motivate your staff team to deliver high-quality care
  • Promote positive outcomes in education, health, and emotional wellbeing
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations
  • Participate in the on-call rota and support staff as needed

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent)
  • 3 years experience in a residential childcare setting, including 2 years at a senior level
  • Strong understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
  • Experience of leading Ofsted inspections
  • Proven ability to lead, support and develop a team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Confident in attending multi-agency meetings and writing formal reports
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care
  • Flexible and resilient, with the ability to adapt to challenging situations
  • Full UK driving licence - Own car required and business insurance
  • Ability to work occasional additional hours and participate in the on-call rota

Desirable:

  • Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience in therapeutic care settings
  • Strong Ofsted inspection outcomes
  • Proven track record of staff development
  • Understanding of attachment and trauma-informed practices
