A leading support services organization in the UK seeks a Housing Specialist to help individuals secure appropriate housing. The candidate will manage negotiations with landlords, assess housing suitability, and support families in tenancy issues. Essential skills include strong communication, an understanding of the housing market, and experience in housing management. Source and secure housing that meets the unique support, accessibility, and safety needs of each individual.
Negotiate leases and tenancy agreements with landlords and housing providers to ensure affordability and sustainability.
Build strong partnerships with local councils, housing associations, and estate agents to expand housing opportunities.
Assess housing suitability, ensuring compliance with Lifeways' standards and relevant legislation.
Support individuals and families in understanding tenancy rights, promoting independence and long‑term stability.
Monitor housing placements and maintain accurate records to ensure positive, lasting outcomes.
Stay informed on housing policy changes, funding opportunities, and local market trends.
We’re looking for someone who’s as comfortable negotiating a lease as they are supporting a family to understand a tenancy agreement.
You’ll bring a blend of housing expertise, empathy, and collaboration – able to balance the needs of individuals with the realities of local housing markets.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of the local housing market, tenancy law, and housing assistance schemes.
Experience in housing management, tenancy brokerage, or a similar role.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems.
Ability to work collaboratively with local authorities, landlords, and internal care teams.
Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and universal benefits.
Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs.
Knowledge of sourcing suitable accommodation for people with complex support requirements.
