A prominent health organisation in Wales seeks a Project Support Manager to oversee various projects in Imaging. Key responsibilities include managing project initiation, reporting, and delivery, particularly for NHS research. Candidates should have experience in NHS Research Governance and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). The role involves liaison between departments to enhance research capacity, ensuring effective project management methodologies are applied. A commitment to an inclusive workplace is essential.
The National Imaging Academy Wales (NIAW) sets up and acts as a site for numerous research projects. The Project Support Manager will aid with the initiation, management, and reporting of a variety of projects across Imaging in Wales. A large proportion of projects involve NHS Research Approvals and applicants should have proven experience in NHS Research Governance with a sound knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the UK Policy for Health and Social Care Research, HRA and HCRW Approval and the Research Ethics Service.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see 'Welsh Language Guidance' in the documents right at the bottom.
The post holder will be responsible for reporting data and supporting the delivery of operational projects (for example, relating to artificial intelligence, service evaluation and quality improvement). Applicants should therefore have experience in supporting different aspects of research delivery / approvals, including project planning, tracking and reporting, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload effectively. This role will act as a key link between the Imaging and Research and Development departments across Wales, Health and Care Research Wales (HCRW) and NIAW, building relationships to support and increase capacity for commercial research.
The Project Support Manager will autonomously manage elements of specific projects as delegated. The post holder will also ensure that standard project management methodologies are applied successfully to deliver projects.
You will be able to find a full Job description and Person Specification attached within the supporting documents or please click Apply now to view in Trac.

We also warmly welcome applications from members of the Armed Forces community.
Applicants who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals will require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care Visa or a Skilled Worker Visa unless they already hold permission to work via another route. Prospective applicants should self-assess their eligibility for sponsorship by visiting the UK Government's Work in the UK guidance. For eligible candidates, the Health and Care Visa offers reduced application costs and exempts payment of the annual Immigration Health Surcharge.
Applications are welcome in either Welsh or English, with no preference given to the language used.
