My client is a hugely successful, multi-site food manufacturing business. They are now looking for an experienced Category Buyer to work within their central procurement function.

Reporting into the Head of Category and looking after a number of ingredient categories, you will work in partnership with key stakeholders, factories, suppliers, and customers to accelerate financial delivery, protect the business from risk, and transform supplier-led innovation. You’ll have an in-depth understanding of all factory needs, working closely with the wider team.

You’ll also be responsible for setting the category strategy based on a full understanding of the business’s needs. Acting as a collaborative partner to the business, responding to and resolving escalations will be a key part of this role.

To apply, you will ideally be a graduate with several years’ experience within ingredients procurement and be eager to take on this significant Category Buying role. Ingredients experience is essential.

You will be able to build positive relationships with different stakeholders, work independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrate high levels of initiative. Perseverance in the face of challenges, along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet stakeholder demands, will come naturally to you.
