Goods In Auditor

Are you an established Quality Technician/Auditor seeking your next step up in your career?

Major Recruitment are seeking an experienced Goods In Auditor to join our client's site at their manufacturing site in near Burton upon Trent.

I am looking for someone who will have a strong focus on compliance with HACCP and Quality Systems, an excellent working knowledge on GMP, hygiene and traceability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive food safety & GMP standards by carrying out internal audits against BRCGS, GMP audits in all areas of the site, Glass & Hard plastic audits across site.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Carry out temperature checks of chillers in Warehouse areas. Report any out of spec temperatures to engineers and deal with re-testing of temperatures.
  • Collecting and checking printed packaging to ensure it meets the required standard, and when necessary give samples to Quality Systems team for approval.
  • Raw Material Intake
  • Sample and collate raw materials and finished product for lab analysis by using aseptic techniques.
  • Support the QA Supervisor with carrying out full investigations for both micro and nutritional issues. This may include sampling, collating results and tracking data.
  • Ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees and that as a minimum the QA department meets the standards set out in the HSE policy by raising near miss cards when necessary.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing team to promote a QA culture throughout all aspects of the business.
  • Support the QA supervisor and wider technical team with BRCGS certification and maintenance.
  • Play a key part in all areas of HACCP compliance.
  • Liaise with Quality Systems Team to provide information including photographs to assist with supplier complaints.
  • Ensure that any out of specification finished product or raw material in Warehouse is physically put on hold, communicated to relevant departments, update & maintain the on hold log.
  • Making decisions within remit regarding product food safety, quality and integrity and liaise with the wider technical team and NPD when necessary. Deal with, and resolve a variety of quality issues as and when they happen.
  • Help to maintain product sample retention cages to ensure retention samples are kept for duration of life, and any OOD product is disposed of

Skills required to be a Good In Auditor
  • Previous experience working in a QA or Technical role within food manufacturing.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office / IT software, data trending and graph generation / pivot table creation.
  • Able to plan and prioritise balancing day to day production needs with the longer-term objectives of the department.
  • Demonstrates an excellent standard of written and verbal communication in all areas.
  • Understands and demonstrates the need for excellence in customer service both internal and external.
  • Consistently applies hygiene and quality standards, focus and compliance.
  • Manages their time and workload for maximum output to meet agreed objectives.
Qualifications
  • Food Safety Level 2 or higher.
  • Experience of working in a food manufacturing factory.
  • Previous auditing experience.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels and functions.
