A local governmental authority seeks an experienced Finance Officer to join their Budgeting and Accounting Team. The role involves supporting transformational change projects and providing critical financial insights to ensure accountability across services. Candidates should possess AAT qualifications or be part-qualified at CCAB level. The position supports flexible working arrangements.
Finance Officer | 8907 | Fixed Term Contract until 30 April 2027 | 37 hours per week | £39,862 to £41,771 per annum (Scale J) | County Hall, Norwich/Hybrid
We are looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join the Budgeting and Accounting Team here at Norfolk County Council and play a key role in helping to deliver a first class budgeting and accounting service across the organisation.
Norfolk County Council are the main local authority for Norfolk providing services countywide to Norfolk residents. We take a lead in critical policy areas, and we work in partnership with local businesses, voluntary organisations and other local authorities in order to provide the people of Norfolk with excellent services.
Our Budgeting and Accounting Team are a critical part of our organisation, providing support across the breadth of our services to ensure that we’re accountable as a council, and that taxpayers are receiving the best possible value for money. Working in a large and complex environment currently going through a significant period of transformational change, you’ll be part of a talented, proactive team that makes a real difference and is able to support the continual evolution and long-term objectives of the council.
The role is a full time, grant funded post, initially on a fixed term basis until April 2027.
The core focus of the role is to work closely with Adult Social Care service leads to support transformational change projects, both externally and internally funded.
To be considered for the role, you’ll need a proven background as a Finance Officer or similar, able to work as part of a finance team, and you’ll be AAT qualified or part-qualified at CCAB level. You’ll be adept at providing both management and financial accounting information, along with analysing financial and non-financial data, and be able to communicate this to colleagues across the organisation to support strategic decision making.
