An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the Financial Management team at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, taking the lead with one of our key Clinical Divisions and supporting the attainment of the Trust's financial performance. The post holder will assist the Deputy Divisional Business Advisor/Senior Financial Accountant in reporting the financial position of the Trust and will be part of the team supporting the Senior Management Accountant with the delivery of a financial management service to clinical divisions.

• Assist the Deputy Divisional Business Advisor/Senior Financial Accountant in reporting the financial position of divisions within the Trust.
• Assist with the production of standard divisional finance information following the month end, including graphical presentations identifying trends and future predictions.
• Work directly for the Deputy Divisional Business Advisor/Senior Financial Accountant in providing Trust-wide information and ensure that divisional finances operate to a high degree of standardisation; undertake investigations where necessary.
• Plan own work to ensure that the timetable set for the production of information is achieved.
• Ensure divisions are fully aware of all aspects of financial control, probity and stewardship, including standing financial instructions and standing orders.
• Ensure that divisional financial records represent a true and fair view and meet financial timescales and the requirements of the Trust’s corporate reporting system, external statutory returns and accounts, and accounting policies and legislation.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the sole provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital and a wide range of services in the community. The Trust has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit, with recent expansions to emergency care facilities.

• Detailed understanding of accounting procedures as they relate to budgetary control and operating within defined policies and procedures.
• Ability to plan own work and manage time to meet production timetables for financial information.
• Experience in producing financial information, including graphical presentations and trend analysis.
• Experience working with divisional finance information and ensuring standardisation of reporting across divisions.
