Overview

Senior Accountant (Commercial & Projects) – Post No. 44501

Salary: £37,280 to £46,142 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

Grade: Grade 6/7

Hours: 37 hours per week

Place of Work: Worthing Town Hall/hybrid working – office-based with some home working

Responsibilities
  • Support the coordination of the preparation of capital accounting, including budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Support and advise project and commercial teams on financial viability and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting related to capital and asset management.
  • Assist in providing financial aspects of audits, risk assessments, and long-term asset planning.
  • Provide commercial acumen and a proactive advisory role in financial discussions linked to the council’s operations, including robust cost modelling and financial advice.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience in capital accounting frameworks and asset management.
  • Excellent technical skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Experience working across teams, especially within multi-disciplinary and project-based settings.
