A leading healthcare provider in Maidstone is seeking a Senior Orthopaedic Theatre Practitioner to support the new Kent and Medway Orthopaedic Centre. The role involves supervising junior staff, ensuring high standards of care, and working within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates are required to have excellent communication skills, with mentorship experience being desirable. Additional benefits include at least 27 days of annual leave and membership in the NHS Pension Scheme.
The Senior Orthopaedic Theatre Practitioner forms part of the new Kent and Medway Orthopaedic Centre team at Maidstone Hospital. Over 200 new posts will support the new Centre, which is part of a national scheme to deliver more than 50 new surgical hubs across England. The new Centre will open later on this year and treat patients from across the region, increasing the Trust's capacity for planned surgical procedures. The Centre will contain the latest novel open plan laminar flow theatres; open‑plan surgical areas where up to three patients are treated in a dedicated space with a specialised air canopy over each station to prevent the spread of infection. The new facility will also include a 14‑bed inpatient ward and a 10‑bed day‑case ward, with recovery, x‑ray and therapy space, all within a dedicated elective building.
We will consider newly qualified ODPs and development practitioners working with Anaesthetics. This role is currently only being advertised to staff members who are currently working within the Kent and Medway ICS.
All successful applicants will be required to complete our corporate trust induction once a start date has been agreed. Following your corporate induction you will be expected to attend the Trust's 2‑week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics.
We welcome applications from people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences and celebrate the diversity of thought, viewpoints, and ideas that will make our Trust the best place to work. We are committed to being a diverse employer and strive to reflect everyone in our local communities.
