Job description

Carpenter Box is proud to be part of the Sumer Group. We are chartered accountants, tax and business advisers based in the South East. Our culture is built on collaboration, innovation and professional excellence, where every team member is encouraged to grow, contribute and make a real difference. With us, audit isn't just about compliance – it's about creating value. Our approach is to create a positive experience for our clients by identifying risks, uncovering opportunities for growth and driving improved business performance. No two audits are ever the same, we focus on key risk areas and tailor our approach to reflect each client’s current challenges and priorities. With our sector-based focus, you’ll look beyond the numbers to gain deep insights into how businesses operate and the issues that shape their success.

We're looking for an experienced and motivated auditor to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients, leading assignments from planning through to completion and ensuring every project is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You'll prepare accounts and corporate tax computations, support on ad hoc client projects, and play a key role in developing strong, lasting client relationships. As a trusted point of contact during fieldwork, you'll maintain proactive communication throughout the year, collaborating closely with managers and partners to ensure compliance with all technical standards. You'll also oversee and review the work of trainees and Semi‑Seniors, providing hands‑on coaching, constructive feedback and opportunities for growth.

We are currently recruiting for highly motivated and ambitious individuals to join us as Audit Seniors for our Gatwick office.

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients during fieldwork, maintaining proactive and professional communication throughout the year.
  • Collaborate closely with managers and partners to ensure compliance with technical standards, ensuring prompt escalation in relation to timescales and deliverables of assignments.
  • Proactively supervise, coach and develop trainees, providing ongoing feedback and guidance to help develop skills and experience of the team.
