Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is Santander's global division supporting complex corporate and institutional clients, offering tailored wholesale products and services.

This role is within our Regulatory Compliance team, part of a global function delivering Compliance Monitoring, Controls Testing, and Assurance (MT&A).

Global MT&A conducts independent, risk-based reviews to assess control design and effectiveness. You will help protect the firm by assessing regulatory and financial crime risks through structured reviews, thematic testing, and deep dives across key processes and controls. You will lead and deliver risk-based reviews.

Our operations span Europe, APAC, the US, and Latin America, and you will collaborate with colleagues across jurisdictions, influencing and impacting SCIB globally.

This is a hands-on role, suited for someone capable of planning and executing reviews, building stakeholder relationships, and contributing to the control environment across various business lines.

The key responsibilities include:

1. Planning and delivering complex reviews end-to-end, focusing on conduct, market abuse, conflicts, and regulatory compliance themes.
2. Designing testing strategies based on risk assessments and regulatory expectations.
3. Leading scoping, fieldwork, stakeholder interviews, and reporting.
4. Assessing control design and operational effectiveness.
5. Identifying issues and providing clear, risk-based recommendations.
6. Tracking actions and following up on remediation.

Essential qualifications and experience:

• Experience in Internal Audit, Assurance, or Compliance Controls Testing.
• Knowledge of Corporate and Investment Banking products and services.
• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Preferred additional skills:

• Knowledge of regulations such as EMIR, MiFID II, MAR, Dodd-Frank, Volcker.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CISI, CFA, ACAMS, ACCA).
• Spanish language skills (beneficial but not essential).
• Knowledge of Data Analytics and data interrogation techniques.

Additional information:

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London, within walking distance from Warren Street and Euston stations.
