About Your New Role

Weightmans’ IT team plays a pivotal role in the firm’s innovation strategy, enabling digital transformation across departments.

The Solutions Architect translates business requirements into appropriate IT solutions, designs end‑to‑end solutions and integrations, and owns architecture governance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Translate business requirements into IT solutions aligned with business and IT strategy.
  • Design end‑to‑end solutions, integrations, and governance through Architecture/Design Board.
  • Embed security, compliance, and risk management into solution design from inception.
  • Deliver solutions that reduce operational costs, improve resilience, and enhance user experience.
  • Define and deliver a standardised software request and implementation process.
  • Own and maintain full topologies for the estate and identify standardisation opportunities.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across projects and platforms.
  • Maintain structured processes, technical documentation, and knowledge bases to support architectural excellence and compliance.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, risk & compliance, HR, and external vendors to meet business and compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend competitive solutions.
  • Champion operational excellence using Lean, Six Sigma, ITIL, and other quality management methodologies.
  • Foster a collaborative, outcome‑driven culture focused on technical excellence and colleague experience.
  • Support project execution using Weightmans’ project management framework and ensure solutions are delivered to architectural scope.
  • Ensure systems and processes meet legal, regulatory, and data protection standards including GDPR, ISO 27001, and Cyber Essentials+.
About You

Ideally you will have previous experience in a similar role and environment. You should be flexible, adapt to different tasks, and have:

  • Proven experience in solution architecture, enterprise integration, and stakeholder engagement within complex environments.
  • Certification such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, or similar.
  • Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Solutions‑oriented visionary and strategic thinker.
  • Collaborative leader passionate about technology and mentoring.
  • Knowledge of security, risk management, compliance, and data protection.
