Band 3 Medical Secretary / Typist – Dundee

Rate of Pay : £14.52 per hour

Location : Dudhope House, Dundee

Hours : Negotiable / Flexible (to be agreed based on workload and candidate capability)

Contract : Temporary

We are recruiting an experienced and highly competent Band 3 Medical Secretary / Typist to support the Dundee Adult Psychological Therapies Service at Dudhope House. This role requires an excellent typist who is confident working with audio transcription systems and able to help stabilise typing backlogs across several specialties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality typing support, including audio transcription via the Winscribe system (training will be provided).
  • Produce accurate, timely clinical correspondence and documentation.
  • Support clinicians and admin teams with general secretarial and administrative duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to NHS policies and procedures at all times.
  • Liaise with staff professionally, ensuring any queries are resolved efficiently.
  • Contribute to ensuring smooth workflow within the service during a period of high demand.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Medical Secretary or strong background in typing / administration.
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy; confident with audio transcription.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on‑site at Dudhope House, Dundee.
  • Professional, reliable and able to follow procedures and deadlines.
Additional Information
  • Hours are flexible and will be agreed based on service needs and candidate capability.
  • An informal meeting will be arranged with the service upon progressing suitable applicants.
