Job description
Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated professional to join the Trust's wider Learning & Development Team. This is a varied role focused on ensuring staff have the skills and competence to deliver high standards of care. You will design, deliver and evaluate a range of online and face-to-face programmes. Training topics include clinical induction, safeguarding, clinical risk and Mental Capacity Act training.

This role is suitable for someone moving from a hands-on clinical role who wants to apply experience from mental health and/or learning disability services. A relevant professional qualification in Health and/or Social Care and some teaching experience are required. A passion for education and a willingness to embrace new technology are key as we seek to use technology to enhance the learner experience both online and in person. Support will be provided to develop skills and confidence in all aspects of the role.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and deliver innovative education programmes including written course materials and guides to meet the needs of services provided by the Trust, based on identified service needs and up-to-date evidence bases.
  • Develop and regularly review programmes and pathways for learning based on law, national policy and guidance, and the Trust’s Training Plan(s).
  • Seek ways of improving performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery and obtaining and analysing feedback.
  • Ensure effective use of educational resources to ensure training compliance targets are met.
  • Promote social inclusion and reduce inequalities in health opportunities through training and education of the Trust’s workforce.
  • L3 Award Education & Training Course (or equivalent), Practice Assessor module, Practice Educator, Practice Assessor or Practice Supervisor experience may be considered if willing to achieve a further qualification to teach at an accredited standard.
  • The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are described in the Job Description/Person Specification.
About the Trust

We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues across 55 sites and in peoples homes. We strive to enable a welcoming workplace culture that builds civility, inclusivity and diversity, while providing belonging and trust.

The Trust is committed to embedding personalised care and delivering high-quality care. Personalised care starts with conversations about what matters to people and building on what they can do, while addressing health needs.
