Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a confident and motivated Sports Coach to deliver sports and physical activity sessions for primary and secondary-aged students with SEMH/SEND needs in Huntingdonshire, UK. This role requires at least 2 years of experience working with such children and relevant coaching qualifications. The schedule is flexible, either part-time or full-time, during term-time only, with hourly pay ranging from £18 to £20 based on experience. Strong interpersonal skills are a must.

Job description

We are seeking a confident and motivated Sports Coach to deliver sports and physical activity sessions for primary and secondary-aged students with SEMH/SEND needs. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about using sport to support children who may struggle socially or academically.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions
• Support students' emotional regulation, confidence, teamwork, and social skills
• Encourage positive behaviour and routines
• Adapt sessions to meet individual needs
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
• Follow safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries

Qualifications / Experience Required

• At least 2 years' experience working with children with SEMH/SEND needs
• Relevant sports coaching experience or qualifications
• Patience, resilience, and a positive, adaptable approach
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection

Hours & Pay

• Part-time or full-time, term‑time only (39 weeks)
• Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 15:30 (sessions 09:00-12:00 & 12:30-15:30)
• Hourly pay: £18-£20 (based on experience)
