Service Engineer - High Pressure Chemical Lab Reactors. This specialist equipment provider seeks a mechanically biased engineer with exposure to chemical reactors (lab, pilot or industrial scale) or other high-pressure equipment. The role involves service, installation, commissioning and ongoing support for customers across the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotech and academia sectors.

• Operating in a 10-20% presales and 80-90% post-sales support role.
• Engaging in key technical discussions alongside the Product Specialist on advanced and complex projects (approximately 6-7 projects per year).
• CAD design (training provided).
• Working on floor-standing lab and occasionally pilot-scale chemical reactor systems.
• Troubleshooting issues with returned instruments (rupture discs, valves, vessel, electric heater, temperature and stirrer controllers).
• Mechanical and electrical engineering mix: approximately 65-70% mechanical and 30-35% electrical engineering (a qualified electrician is not required).
• Visiting customers to complete new equipment installations and commissioning (~0.5 to 3 days per site, ~20 installations per year).
• Visiting a variety of Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Academia clients; liaising with customers to schedule service visits.
• Conducting routine service and calibration work, as well as reactive maintenance, fault finding and problem resolution.
• Working on equipment valued £50K to £300K.
• Completing service visit reports and prebuild/assembly of systems ahead of customer installation dates.
• Learning and developing skills on new instruments as you progress within the company.

• Multiskilled (electromechanical) with a mechanical bias and hands-on experience as a service engineer/technician on high-pressure systems, reactors or related chemical equipment.
• Logical and methodical fault-finding approach; enjoys a diverse role.
• Engineering qualifications such as a time-served apprenticeship, City & Guilds, HNC, HND or Degree.
• CAD experience is advantageous but not essential; knowledge or education in Chemical Engineering is helpful.
• UK driving licence and right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not offered.

• £40K - £57K basic salary (dependent on experience)
• 15% bonus

Based in the Northwest, West/South Yorkshire or Midlands (North of Birmingham). The role involves site visits across the UK with an average of around 4 nights away per month. Travel is primarily Monday–Friday and does not encroach on weekends.
