A national health service organization is seeking a Deputy Postgraduate Dean to lead the delivery of cross-specialty training in England. The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinician with a strong understanding of education and training, excellent leadership, and communication skills. This part-time role supports the Regional Postgraduate Dean and offers an opportunity for significant impact on healthcare education and training improvements.
Applications are invited for the role of Deputy Postgraduate Dean within NHSE South West. The role of Deputy Postgraduate Dean will provide local and regional leadership of the delivery of high-quality cross-specialty and multi-professional training. The role supports the Regional Postgraduate Dean in delivering corporate, statutory and non-statutory functions. It is focussed firmly upon improving patient and learner safety and experience and ensuring effective educational outcomes.
The appointment will be made on the basis of a part-time secondment to NHS England, alongside existing employment with an NHS Trust in the South West geographical footprint. The contract is up until the 31st October 2026 initially due to the transformation programme as we look to integrate NHS England into the Department of Health and Social Care.
Candidates invited to interview will participate in a 30-minute session with a stakeholder panel on Monday 20th October and a formal interview on Tuesday 21st October.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
